Conformational polymorphism and thermochemical analysis of 5,5'''-bis[(2,2,5,5-tetramethyl-1-aza-2,5-disila-1-cyclopenthyl)ethyl]-2,2':5',2":5",2"'-quaterthiophene
Article Abstract:
The new aspect of polymorphism in oligothiophene compound 5,5'''-bis[(2,2,5,5-tetramethyl-1-aza-2,5-disila-1-cyclopenthyl)ethyl]-2,2':5',2":5",2"'-quaterthiophene is reported in two forms, namely form-I, which is a more stable phase obtained as-synthesized materials, and form II, which is a less stable phase obtained by a solid-melt-solid transformation from form-I. The solid-solid transformation from form-II to form-I is observed in the range between room temperature and melting point, thus concluding that concluded that the system of two polymorphs is monotropic.

Ultrafast photoinduced charge separation dynamics in polythiophene/Sn[O.sub.2] nanocomposites
Article Abstract:
An ultrafast infrared transient absorption study of photoinduced interfacial electron transfer (ET) dynamics of Sn[O.sub.2] nanocrystalline thin film sensitized by polythiophene derivatives (regioregular poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) and regiorandom poly(3-undecyl-2,2'-bithiophene) (P3UBT)) is presented. It is found that in P3HT/Sn[O.sub.2] composites, the interchain charge transfer competes with and reduces the quantum efficiency of interfacial electron transfer at high polymer loading.

Photohole screening effects in polythiophenes with pendant groups
Article Abstract:
Two mechanisms that dominate the temperature-dependent changes in electronic structure for poly(3-hexylthiophene-2,5-diyl) (P3HT) are compared. Temperature-dependent changes in the structure and configuration of the polymer backbone are not as significant although temperature-dependent final state effects are observed.
